A multimodal approach to public speech performances by Irish students The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of a public speech performance by Irish students who speak English as their first language. The participants were 31 final-year students at the National University of Ireland Galway. Their speech performance was audio- and video-recorded in front of an audience, with recordings taking place between 13th-19th, Nov. In this talk, key issues in collecting the data in Ireland will be discussed. Data analysis methods used in our previous research will also be presented as examples for future analysis. |
